Staff of Gamelon - Zelda (Sprite test)

So, back in the day, I found lord-phillock and friends's old remake project "The Legend of Zelda - Staff of Gamelon", which was a re-imagining of the so-bad-it's-a-classic "Wand of Gamelon" for the Philips CD-i.

I immediately loved the design of the characters and creatures, and although they envisioned the game to be in a 3D format á la OoT or TP, I thought it would be fun to see if I could translate the design into a base 2D idle sprite to build off of (since I had a pixel art frenzy at the time and 2D platformers/action adventure games are my thing).
I think I made it justice (here is the concept art itself: [link]) but I obviously still have much to learn. Someday I'd like to make an entire sprite sheet of this, but that's not possible right now, what with university and stuff. But one day I might get back to it.
